That BIG aha moment. Are we waiting for the moment that changes our outlook on Christ? Why? What's keeping you from following God? We mean fully committing to Him, not passively as you feel it fits into your schedule.
There's a passage from the book Radical by David Platt that challenges the reader:
"...from the outset you need to commit to believe whatever Jesus says. As a Christian, it would be a grave mistake to come to Jesus and say, 'Let me hear what you have to say, and then I'll decide whether or not I like it.' If you approach Jesus this way, you will never truly hear what he has to say. You have to say yes to the words of Jesus before you even hear them."
We've said this before. If you're sitting on the sidelines waiting for God to speak to you or show you the way let us tell you it's time to get in the game. This is where you will hear from the Holy Spirit. We must step out in faith in order to fully reap the rewards that God freely gives us.
Faith is the assurance of things hoped for,
1 Now faith is the assurance of things hoped for, the conviction of things not seen. 2 For by it the people of old received their commendation. 3 By faith we understand that the universe was created by the word of God, so that what is seen was not made out of things that are visible.
Let us give you, even more, examples of people that stepped out in faith. Please review the remaining verses of Hebrews 11. These are biblical references of people that have stepped out in faith and reaped the heavenly rewards from God.
We know... what about people from today? We encourage you to contact any one of our Board Members or Chapter Leaders. These are men (and their spouses) who have stepped out in faith and are reaping the heavenly rewards from God.
Make this your motivation for the rest of the week and weekend:
"You have to say yes to the words of Jesus before you even hear them."
Say yes! Fully commit to glorifying Him and furthering His kingdom every minute of every day.
On a journey of a 1,000 miles, it starts with a single step. This is our journey with the Lord. Start with a single step (aka saying yes). Spend the remaining 999.99 miles (aka a lifetime) exploring His word, honoring Him, and furthering His kingdom.
Remember to always and above all else keep God first, then family, next your neighbor (friends, extended family, classmates, co-workers, etc.), and finally everything else.
This will help you stay on track with what God wants you to do for His glory. Let Him guide!
Faith comes from hearing
17 So faith comes from hearing, and hearing through the word of Christ.
Live for His glory... Succeed for His kingdom!
