PASSOVER LAMB

March 23, 2017

Matthew Allen is our Fully Packed Adventure Ministries Honduras chapter leader and also sits on the FPAM board.  While he volunteers his time at FPAM, his full-time gig is a high school Bible Teacher at a private school in Tegucigalpa Honduras.  Just the other day, Matt was teaching his students about the Passover Lamb.  In true Matt form, he went the extra mile and brought a lamb as a visual guide for the topic.

Here's his Facebook post:

Matt has a gift for explaining God's Word.  When he talks, you're drawn in and captivate by the story and the all the background information.  It's no surprise to me that Matt would go to this length to help high schoolers better understand the true meaning of the Passover Lamb.  Matt is passionate about spreading God's Word!

Just as Matt talks about Jesus sitting down at the righthand of God and finishing the work of salvation and restoration on the cross, it brings to light that Jesus died for our sins.  Even those that don't believe/deny Him.  He died for them too knowing that they will reject him, but while Christ's work on earth is complete, our work still continues.  Now, we can't add to what He already accomplished, but Jesus did commission us:

Matthew 28:18-20

18 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.  19 Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, 20 teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you.  And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

First, we must understand what God is telling us to do - God's Word aka The Bible.  Then, we must go and make disciples of those we meet teaching them everything about God's Word and what he commands all of us to do.

I know some will say, "I'm not cut out for that." Reread Verse 18 - "And Jesus came and said to them (the 12 disciples), "All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me."   Jesus has been commissioned and commissions ALL of us to go and bring him the glory and further His kingdom!

Whether you think your "cut out for it" or not, you are!  Reread verse 20 - "And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age."  You're not alone in this: The Father, The Son, and The Holy Spirit are inside you.  Tap into this and let it start guiding your life.  Trust me! You won't regret it!  Look at Matt Allen.  He gave Christ his life, and now he's ministering to the people of Honduras and getting the chance to teach the next generation!  That's amazing, that's what our job is to do!

I want to encourage you to listen to Christ this Easter Sunday.  Read Exodus 12 and Hebrews 9-10.  Reach out to your local church and ask them how you can learn more about God's Word.  Get plugged in!  Start today!

Thanks and God Bless!
