In the 6 years of riding and doing adventure ministry I've been able to watch and learn from seasoned veterans.  One comes to mind this week.  My dad.  For years I've watched him ride alongside people (sometimes in the other lane of oncoming traffic!).

I can remember everyone yelling at him to get back on the other side of the road.  Why would he do this?  If I had a nickle for every time a person asked that question!  I would tell them that he'll do anything to get to know someone.  Even if that means riding in the other lane!

The picture below means a lot to a buddy of mine: Josh Welker.  In this picture it looks as if two gentlemen are riding down the road, but what you don't know if Josh (the guy in the bright green shirt) was on his last leg.  He was ready to call it quits and then he saw a guy riding back towards him.  That was my dad.  He rode back (as he always would in group rides) to check on the last guy.  My dad spent the next 20 miles talking to josh and riding at Josh's pace to get him to the finish.

The same goes for the Lord.  When we feel as if we're at the end of our rope He's there for us.  Always there for us.  Ready to pick us up, dust us off, and send us back out into the world!

2 Corinthians 1:3-5

All praise to the God and Father of our Master, Jesus the Messiah! Father of all mercy! God of all healing counsel! He comes alongside us when we go through hard times, and before you know it, he brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as God was there for us. We have plenty of hard times that come from following the Messiah, but no more so than the good times of his healing comfort—we get a full measure of that, too.

He comes alongside us when we go through hard times.  He brings us alongside someone else who is going through hard times so that we can be there for that person just as He did for us!

Who is that person you need to "ride" alongside and counsel?  You never know... they might be sitting right next to you!

Thanks and God Bless!
